Ok, wow, long time since I've posted anything, eh?
IT. IS. HOT. OUTSIDE. x_x

ANYWAY:

Today, The Bat-Boys (~Rantbot, ~itakun666, ~Kebbige, James Newman, Mikel Richards, and Myself) took home 2nd Place in the Best Programming Field at the 1st Annual Oregon Game Project Competition for our Steampunk Game, "Crimson Steam"!

We got: A Plastic Blue/Silver Little Trophy. _{Aren't you just proud of us? X3}

Much fun was had there! We had to wake up at 5:00am this morning in order to catch a bus at 7:00am to travel to the far distance lands of Salem, Oregon. We got back about 12 hours later. D:

We worked on the game on the bus, thought we had it working, found more bugs, and ended up creating a small, "workable" version of it while we walked to our first judging session. They seemed to like the game, so whee there.

Later on we had to present it to other teams, and then to another panel of judges (which went poorly, mostly because Lappy decided that it didn't like the heat of the room).

We met a really cool group from North Bend (who called themselves Phred), mostly this one girl named Anna, who randomly came to our table during lunch. AND THIS TEAM TOOK HOME THE MAIN 1ST PRIZE, BTW.

Also, before the actually "Giving of the Awards", they had a little Rock Band contest. The first group to go up there played "(Don't Fear) The Reaper". Because of this, one of our tech teachers (Pike) decided to take a glass bottle and beat it with a pen (LIKE A COWBELL, Lulz), and then proceed to rush towards the stage! It was the funniest thing to happen during this whole trip! We laughed as we sank into our chairs in embarrassment. XD

During the Awards things, a bunch of teams won awards that... well, not to sound like a egoistic or anything, but their game weren't really that good. Most of them had poor quality. Seriously.

But our school took home 2 trophies; Both 2nd, One in Programming, One in Game Experience (another team from our school one that one), so good times there!

So hopefully now I'll have time to work on arts that are postable. I may even post some of the sprites I made for the game, or hell, maybe even the game itself! :3
